  •  Einstein famously said: (0+ / 0-)

    "God doesn't play dice."

Meaning, I think, that whatever God exists doesn't set about doing or not doing specific things, including saving 12 people in an airplane crash while decided the other 86 must die.

That said, the pope supposedly has a direct line to God and it is certainly hard to understand why God didn't call him up and said, "Hey, gonna shake up this little area of Italy pretty soon. Looking to take out about 300 sinners or so."

Or maybe he did and this pope just didn't care? Maybe that town voted too liberal for his pope-ship's pleasure?

Or more accurately the Copenhagen Interpretation of QP.

My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world. - Jack Layton

      •  Einstein had many statements on God and (0+ / 0-)

it was clear he didn't think God controlled people's lives.  He was more ... like a mystic or spiritual person who saw God as all of the things in the Universe, not a humanistic being who makes decisions about peoples' lives.
