    I hope we win for Obama, but I fear that we'll love the Governorship along with the legislature.

    The next few years are gonna suck.

      We have almost as much if not more to lose having all the branches of state government controlled by Rethugs as we do if that happens on the national level.

      It really helps to canvass. You can often get people to vote Dem downticket (although there seems to be a lot of resistance  with people sticking to McCrory) if you just explain to them the important issues at stake - especially with regard to education and the environment. Usually people who are undecided at this point are not exactly following the issues or the people running for lower offices, so you can have a great deal of success just talking to them for a few minutes and giving them a sample ballot and explaining it.

      is a lost cause.  Dalton's never had the money to compete, and is contending with our dysfunctional state party.
