  •  Begala was talking out of his ass, admits it (5+ / 0-)

He admitted in an interview to Greg Sargent that he doesn't talk to the campaign officials, only to Priorities USA folks, and indeed, I corrected Begala on Twitter when Begala tweeted he didn't think OFA was running ads in NC.  That Begala was unaware of OFA ad buys, public information we talk about on DKE all the time, establishes he really didn't know anything.

It's true that NC has been slipping away, I don't think there's any question of that.

But I think there's a media perception that Romney has a stronger advantage there than in reality...and of course that has been true all year, as some pundits have insisted on calling it "lean Romney" for a very long time, indeed some people all year.

Has a slight Romney lean but its one I think its very possible the President can overcome. I think Florida and Virginia are pure toss-ups and the data backs me up in each of those assertions. I think the reason the media perception is that Romney is in a stronger position is because of they think he's stronger than he is in those 3 states. And the reason the media  perceives it that way is because in order to make the super close toss-up election narrative simpler Romney is stronger than he actually is in those 3 states.
