    or the garage, but have never been bitten.  But once I was admiring a little green katydid in our back yard.  It crawled off a grass leaf, and onto my finger, sat there, AND THEN BIT ME. Though it didn't hurt, it gave me a pretty firm pinch and startled the heck out of me.  Why did it do that? Hunger? A sense of threat at the finger that it chose to climb?

      looked up - Do they bite? Apparently not. There's no reason why they could't, like the katydid, but they usually don't. At least that's what I read. Supposedly they're harmless. Kind of dirty, though.
