  •  Except we're not going to (6+ / 0-)

because of the black vote. Southern states are quite elastic and there's pretty much a floor for Obama. I just don't see where the 20 point could be coming from (I guess it depends on what you define as "south").

As a southerner, I can tell you that the vote here is definitely inelastic (in SC, no Democrat has done worse than 40% or better than 45% since Dukakis).  So unless lots of Democrats are being discounted as likely voters.  My only guess it they're counting OK, KY, and WV as "south" but not MD or DE.  But even then, 20% seems like an awfully large margin.

And if you can actually find the state polls (though finding them is not easy), they suggest Obama is down by really closer to 12-14%, not 20%.  I'll say this: no way He's losing the south by 20% in VA, NC, and FL are tied.  Not unless all the Democrats in every other southern state just up and disappeared.

All your vote are belong to us.

      •  They mean deep south. I am a southerner and we (0+ / 0-)

are quite aware that there is a big difference between the VA, NC,  SC and Florida "south" and the "deep south" of Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas.... culturally and politically.  I am from the deep south and there is a big difference.

    •  Yeah south (0+ / 0-)

Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands..... Oh and all those other states.

If at first you don't succeed, vote Teapublicans out and try again. You have to be persistent if you want anything out of life.
