    No, .org was never reserved. In fact, domain names have absolutely zero to do with a business' official name. Ideally when starting a business you should try to find one without a domain already taken. But the reality is that they have nothing to do with each other. That's why there's a democrats.com that has nothing to do with the democratic party and there's nothing the democratic party can do about it unless they want to buy the name from whoever it is that is running that website.

    I agree people assume .org is non profit but the extension comes up alongside .com, .net and all the other dots when you're registering a domain.

    BTW, change.com is taken. It's a lingerie company. ;)
