did exist and if rape was part of "God's plan" then it would be wrong to punish someone who was just acting in accordance with God's plan.  It is simply not possible to prove or disprove the existence of an omnipotent God .

In other words, by taking their statement that "it was all part of God's plan" (and thus the implied statement "God exists") it is possible to derive even more crazy statements using pure logic.  That is the whole point, if you take both "it was part of God's plan" and "of course the rapist should be punished" as true then their argument is not even self consistent (i.e. not valid).  Whether or not God exists (or is good, or whether anything is part of "God's plan") only affects the soundness of such an argument, not it's validity.
