  •  Johnny walks the troll edge, between the bridge (4+ / 0-)

and under the bridge. Sometimes he's up on it, sometimes he lives under it. He doesn't quite seem to get it, but never pushes at it too hard.

      and doesn't have a "side".

He is however, one of only a handful of real tax experts here at DKOS and provides a huge amount of information and analysis on tax issues that is readable and easy to understand as a lay person. He can be a curmudgeon, but he is a treasure, valuable contributor to the site and has five mojo bars.

his contributions in Wisconsin and labor diaries, where the expertise is not at the fore, but a certain amount of anti-labor sentiment is. I guess "curmudgeon" could be an accurate descriptor.

      •  Oh no. He has a side and it's trollish (3+ / 0-)

He has a habit of throwing out insults and running away.

Others have simply gotten old. I prefer to think I've been tempered by time.

issues. I really don't care if he is a tax expert and I've seen very little of tax expertise on display here. That doesn't justify being wrong on every other issue. Frankly, I consider him a full blown troll and have felt that way for a long time. I've seen you defend him numerous times. Maybe you should spend some time looking at what he says when he's not talking taxes, which is most of the time.

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

        •  reflections - I'll take the other comments (0+ / 0-)

for the tax expertise. We have fewer than ten real tax professionals on the site and an overwhelming amount of misinformation on taxes that is published here. The misinformation isn't intentional, it's just that tax is a very complex issue and few people who write here do it for a living. johnny is a tax lawyer and is one of a handful who tries to comment on most tax diaries so that people can have information that is more factual. As an example his analysis of Romney's tax returns were the most substantive and helpful of all that was written about them here. Many of diaries and comments about Romney's two public returns, 2010 & 2011, had a fundamental misunderstanding of the current IRS code and tax law.

his dumb ass comments like this one?

            Seems like an easy fix.

He may be a tax genius but the comment above is trollish in the extreme.  No need to encourage this kind of behavior with recs.

I blog about my daughter with autism at her website
