  •  Only Romney could hire Bork as a consultant: (0+ / 0-)

Good God, if we didn't have enough reason to vote for Obama this just flies way past reason.

From the person that brought you John Bolton, back to life (from what was supposed to be a career in the dustbin), Romney now has searched through the most devisive right wingers left in the sack and pulled out the most rancid.

As the diarist suggests, Bork does not believe there is any substantive due process or more often referred as a "right to privacy" but he also believes in the most narrow of narrow views of the commerce clause, which is also something our SCOTUS is tried to f*ck with in the ACA litigation.  If Bork's view actually got a foothold it would render the federal government basically powerless to enact legislation to improve the lives of all citizens - - just as it was prior to FDRs threat the "pack the court" if the SCOTUS kept overruling his depression "New Deal" packages.

THAT is where these wingers want to take us, back to pre- 1930s USA, when there was no social safety net whatsoever.  I guess the rich would prefer to have people die in the streets than pay 10% more on their taxes in their already all too privileged lives.

ONLY MITT would do something this stupid.

Blessed are the peacemakers, the poor, the meek and the sick. Message to Repug Fundies: "DO you really wonder "what would Jesus do?" I didn't think so.
