  •  I have a gay friend who is Repug (5+ / 0-)

but thinks about his money only - never mind that Republicans tend to make everyone poorer, even the rich.  I also get annoyed when people tell me they're socially liberal but fiscally conservative.  WTF does that mean?  You support Reagan's and Bush's economic policies of debt, deficits, recessions, poverty, financial meltdows?

    •  I consider myself "fiscally conservative." (3+ / 0-)

And by "fiscally conservative" I mean that you should pay for spending.  It doesn't mean cutting spending on important programs, it means paying for the programs you spend money on.  It doesn't mean worshiping tax cuts (especially for the rich)...it means fucking paying for shit you spend money on.  Because ultimately deficit spending is nothing but a future tax hike anyway.

      You know, PAYGO.

Current Republicans are the opposite of fiscally conservative.  The complete, polar opposite.  They are tax cut cultists.

CNN has called it: Luke Skywalker vs. the Death Star is a tie!

      •  That is not fiscal conservatism (0+ / 0-)

It's being fiscally responsible. In Sweden where I live the state seldom or never runs a deficit, and that is true also under socialist governments.

Conservatism = greed, hate, fear and ignorance
