    I went back and skimmed through the first diary -- it's gotten pretty crowded -- and it seems that the vast majority of the comments in it seem to be saying the exact same things that are being said here: that the facts don't bear out the rumor; that the rumor should be disputed; that we should be careful in spreading rumors; etc. So, again, why the second diary?

      Dburn could have posed a question or two, or refocused the effort on something other than the 9000 number he invented.  Beyond that, what is it about his post that warrants investigating?

      Pasting a Fox-like headline on a post with easily spotted errors isn't good diarying.  It was fixable, but the diarist stood/hid behind the question mark in his title.
