  •  Don't forget to fill hydropack bladders with water (6+ / 0-)

    Along with metal and plastic water bottles everyone has for workouts and carrying around town. Also, pots and pans. Some people also have camping "sun showers" and other bladders they can fill with water.

    Make sure to clean them first if you plan to drink or cook with the water in them!

    I'm going to try to buy some camping gas in case the gas and electric is cut off, for boiling water and cooking.

      on the stove with a wok support around it for heating water.

      Also they can be used for candle power and last forever!

      denatured alcohol will do.  Pretty much what Sterno is.

          But I remember what used to be called "bums" and drunks in my old 'hood drinking Sterno, too.

          But, yeah, The Andromeda Strain made a huge impression with that.  :)
