are what I call them now.

Letting Republicans run the government is like putting Atheists in charge of a church. They don't believe in it, don't care if it works - and they take no responsibility for the results.

...but let's keep that one in reserve, anyway.

      •  someone should do the graphic for this. (0+ / 0-)

I hit on the same idea over a decade ago but I never got around to doing the graphics:

The original idea was to have bowl full of cereal with cartoon figures of, on one side, a woman being chased around the rum of the cereal bowl by a creepy looking guy, and on the other side, the same woman triumphantly standing over the guy where he has a black eye and his hands are tied behind his back as he's lying on his front-side on the rim of the cereal bowl.  And above her head a comic-balloon where she's saying "FIGHT BACK!"

But the new version for this election would be designed to elicit sympathy for victims and disgust at Republicans: so in this version, there are a bunch of cartoon-figure women tied up and in the cereal with their chests and heads above the line of the cereal & milk.   And around the back side of the bowl there are a bunch of guys in suits who each have a GOP pin on their jackets, all drooling and holding up their spoons.  Among them is also shown a cartoon figure of a Republican elephant, also with a GOP pin on his front-side and holding a spoon, and with the comic balloon above his head saying "DIG IN!"

"Minus two votes for the Republican" equals "plus one vote for the Democrat." Arithmetic doesn't care about their feelings either!

Not only can your greedy power mongering gop-employer now tell you who to vote for but his elected puppet will pass bills to protect him if he or one of his employees sexually assaults you.  Democracy?

I have been posting what you find below as often as I possibly can on a particular blog that appears to invite moderates, republicans, and democrats.  If you know anyone to whom you can forward my remarks or any others like it, then please do so.

      Even one vote could matter.

**I hope that you, your mother, daughter(s), sister(s), girl friend(s) never have to deal with becoming pregnant from being raped, or has a health matter that risks the life of a fetus, or has a miscarriage.

Because if any of these things happen to any women you know or love, then the Republican Party Platform calls for a 'Personhood' Amendment and it could mean that your loved one would be criminally sanctioned.

Ya'see, the Personhood Amendment that the GOP wants (and V.P. nominee Rep. Ryan co-sponsored in Congress – Sanctity of Life Act) would give Constitutional protections to the fetus that would be equal to you and the women we love.

And if you’re concerned about government run healthcare, realize that:

      - In vitro fertilization or stem cell research would be banned.

      - Any miscarriage would be subject to a criminal investigation.

      - Any medical decision that risks the life of the fetus could subject the woman and her doctor to a criminal investigation.

      - And the real kick in the pants, not only would a woman be forced to have a rapists child, that man would also be afforded visitation rights.

So when anyone votes for any Republican, they are also voting for and enabling the comments by Richard Mourdock who said, "Rape (that begets a child) is Gods will."  He was endorsed by Mitt Romney - it was the only Senatorial endorsement from Mitt Romney.

A vote for any Rapepublican is a vote that could turn women into criminals

He could quit his job and she'd have to pay him child support.

The outrage level of this whole thing blew right past my pacifism limit months ago.

I find it difficult to believe that most marriages could stand up to the complexity of adding the rapist's visitations rights to the already shattering difficulties and threats already endured.

        Time is a long river.
