  •  No, not necessarily (0+ / 0-)

A portion of Michele Bachmann's territory is in the viewing area of this ad buy plus another Republican incumbent (Caravack) who's running behind the Dem.

Yes, I think that for the most part Romney is trying to get some Bush/Obama swing districts in that Wisconsin region but also, Bachmann is having to sweat a little in that reelection campaign.

And Obama has bought counter advertising but overall, I think it was a good ad buy for Romney, actually.

    •  Huh? (0+ / 0-)

Bachmann's crazies are already with Romney.  I can see this ad buy helping with close downticket races, but how does it help Romney win a state that Obama's leading by an average of close to 3% with 10 days to go?

      Have you googled Romney today?

      •  Bachmann is only winning (0+ / 0-)

her district by 6 and the challenger is gaining.

and in MN8 the dem is winning...someone posited on another thread that it seems as though some ad buys appear to be more about down ballot races and it does fir with the portion of Minnesota where Romney bought these ads...the Reps are losing steam there.

        So..it's not SIMPLY about Romney.

It's about Romney as it pertains to Wisconsin and it's about downticket races in Minnesota.

        •  I'm sorry, but this just doesn't make any sense. (0+ / 0-)

You're telling me that Romney and the Pukes are helping Bachmann who is winning by an average of 6 points?

Bachmann is going to win her seat.  If you're telling me that Bachmann is ahead by a statistically significant margin at this late date, she's going to win her seat.  Full stop.

Romney, on the other hand, is behind by an average of ~3% in WI and by more in MN.  The consensus of polls haven't shown him with a lead in either state in quite sometime.

A marginal ad buy to help a candidate who's winning anyway won't move the needle and inch for Romney.  My point is he's got to stop this bullshit posturing if he wants to actually win rather than merely looking like he's winning.

Bachmann has found that Romney helps her a bit, though

Bachmann has taken to mentioning GOP presidential nominee and onetime rival Mitt Romney more often and has even been holding debate-watching parties to cheer him. Poll results could explain why -- Romney is running slightly stronger in her district than Bachmann is, with 54 percent of respondents saying they would vote for Romney. Only 39 percent would for President Obama.

But let them waste their money. I wouldn't be surprised if it causes Romney to lose votes. Seems the more we see, the less we like lol  No one is crazy about Romney here in MN. We know a bullshitter when we see it (except in the little wingnut havens like Bachmann's district).
