  •  The whole thing has been a big sham, from the (7+ / 0-)

first debate until the last. The media was going to crown Romney the winner even if he had just showed up and waved goo-goo, bye-bye....

What they didn’t expect is Democrats unleashing such a fierce attack on the President over his debate performance.... When this happened, the math turned out to be: Republicans + Media + Democratic vilification of Obama = Romney being the gigantic winner!

If Democrats had not led the way in the attack of the President it would not have been as bad as it ended up being.... Republicans were never going to say their guy lost any of the debates. They still have not. Most Republicans have maintained that Mitt Romney has won every single debate....

What really tipped the equation was what was believed to be media allies of the President such as Chris Matthews, Ed Schultz, John Stewart, who speculated that the president may not be so bright, people like Andrew Sullivan calling the President lazy, and tons of other individuals and Democrats attacking the President mercilessly over two weeks....

This gave the media the opportunity to build on the narrative of Romney's gigantic "serge".... I would characterize this whole thing as an ugly episode in a Presidential race that has seen many ugly incidents, but mostly from the other side. If there is an unwillingness to characterize it as ugly at the very least it was short sighted.

The point is, even if Democrats had believed that the President had lost the debate, and, in so doing, by default, giving the win to the lying, sweating, flustered, Mitt Romney, it was inexcusable in the derisive way they went at this President, who has done so much for Democrats, women, gays, the poor, the elderly, over the years.

Now the media is just continuing the false meme that Romney is winning, regardless of any missteps he makes on his way to the presidency. Such is the state of our politics.....
