  •  We all know about the Obama ground game and (0+ / 0-)

how it should give us an advantage. But do you know how much of a ground game the GOP has this time?  I understand that Romney outsourced it to the RNC.  From what I can tell from early voting, the GOP has vastly increased early participation. What we can't tell is whether those are election day voters just voting early or new or unlikely voters who are either enthused or voters that the GOP ground game has recruited.  So I guess my question is what do you know about the Romney "ground game"?  Is the increase in early voting indicative of enthusiasm? Or is it a result of a better GOTV for the GOP than in 2008?  Or is it just a transfer of election day votes?  Obviously this is THE question in NC. My other thought, which is based on anecdotal information from a very red area in NC is whether or not the Tea Party organization is making a difference in getting new votes out. Or at least new votes since 2008 as they may have voted in 2010. I have seen quite a bit of GOTV organizing from them here locally. I am wondering what other people have seen as far as the GOP ground game.

Sorry for all the questions. I just haven't seen this addressed much.

    •  most observers think GOP better than '08 (0+ / 0-)

they'd almost have to be. Same observers think Dems better than 08 esp. with targeting sporadic voters. Also, RNC focused on locals as well as Prez, whereas OFA is only Prez. Romney-Allen but Obama, not Obama-Kaine.

Messina specifically says that D early voting is sporadic voters. Don't know about GOP.

      We'll see.
