  •  What's your point? (0+ / 0-)

The structures on Riker's are not in the threatened zones.  If I am immediately adjoining a zone at risk, it does not mean I am at risk.

Prove to me in any way that the buildings at Riker's are at risk.  You can't because they aren't.

    Still enjoying my stimulus package.

      without using Bloomberg's map.

Have you ever even visited Riker's?  And landing at LGA next to it doesn't count.

They are as low lying as LGA runways. and LGA runways are in evac zones.

Additions to Merriam-Webster's Thesaurus: New synonyms for "inelegant": 1."stupid", "ignorant"; 2. "devious"; 3. "delusional"

      •  No. They are not. (0+ / 0-)

LGA runways are at 5 to 8 feet above sea level.  Structures on Riker's are 20 to 30 feet above sea level.

        Check the transcript.

        Please proceed, governor.

      •  Flood zones (0+ / 0-)

are set by the federal government.

I know, because they are doing work on a creek near my house, and I'm barely out of the flood plain, so I have done a lot of digging.

You need to check the elevations.

What are the elevations of the corners of the Riker's buildings vs the areas that have been evacuated?

What are the worst anticipated flood levels for this storm?

I bet you can find this out at FEMA's site, and then you have evidence to go on.
