    While this targeting of the swing states will likely benefit the top of the ticket, the downside of the tactic is that there are no coattails from Obama in House seats.  We will get another Rethug majority under Boner, and face at least two more years of obstructionist politics, with the country paying the price.  When Governor Dean first instituted the 50 state program, North Carolina was a much redder state.  I never saw Democratic campaign signs in my county.  That changed enormously under Dean, and I think helped elect the Democratic House in Obama's first two year.

    Would the 50 state approach have worked in this bad economy?  Perhaps not.  But if the funds had been there, I would have liked to have seen it tried.
