    "independent" voters. For the gop base, it's all about abortion.
    I don't think racial animus is that widespread or that deep.
    I think a lot of whites would vote for a black man (as they have) if they think he's straight with them.

    Most people here know that the gop obstructed the recovery, in the Senate, then in the House after 2010, and in the state governments where they had power.

    We did a poor job of turning public attention onto that fact.
    I know the media was a major obstacle to the truth in this.

    Remember, all discussion in DC was about the debt and fiscal responsibility, etc. until "Occupy Wall Street", which changed the narrative and forced the discussion of income inequality, and the redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the very rich. This is the one lasting effect of OWS. (so far)
    I think we are going to have to have an "occupy big media" but I think we need to do more than that. Progressivism is really a matter of common sense, and is in the best interest of the average middle or working class person. We really need to get this across to the American voter in a big way.

    You can't make this stuff up.
