    They have experienced two major storms/surges, the famous 1900 storm and Ike in '08.

    Both hurricanes brought massive storm surges. The 1900 Storm yielded a surge having a maximum depth of almost 16 feet. According to Lew Fincher of Hurricane Consulting in Friendswood, Ike was an a typical Category 2 event (defined them as winds up to 110 miles per hour) that generated a storm surge of 14 feet.
