    He's usually a bit hit-and-miss on political issues, but I don't recall seeing something like this before. I guess everyone can have an astoundingly bad day sometimes.

    Needless to say, like practically every other western democracy, Barack Obama is very popular here and the "center of balance" of our local politics is weighted more Democratic than Republican in American political party terms. There is usually a general sense of bewilderment each US presidential election why so many Americans could vote for the Republican candidate, but that is especially so in 2012 with the contrasts between Obama and Romney.

      that if this storm hits Philadelphia where the Democratic voters are, it could hand Pennsylvania and the Presidency to Romney.  Hope NZ is ready to handle the economic collapse from US austerity.
