  •  The primary regulator, the FDA is a Federal agency (0+ / 0-)

The FDA does close down drug and other medical facilities for bad practices, as well as provide approvals to operate.

In addition, if you think the MA governor has significant responsibility on this, where are your criticisms of Gov Patrick, a Democrat, who has been gov since  Jan 4, 2007?

This diary should be taken down, as it puts any Democrat in a bad light who makes these terribly misinformed arguments.

    •  Due to patchwork laws and regulations (0+ / 0-)

operations like NECC are treated as pharmacies (which are regulated at the state level) rather than drug manufacturers (which are regulated at the Federal level by the FDA). The FDA doesn't have much jurisdiction here. It probably should, but it doesn't and it would take an act of Congress to give it jurisdiction.
