  •  Yeah, where ARE they? (11+ / 0-)

Chuck Todd keeps harping on the "enthusiasm gap" and we are all well aware of the glowing hate many on the right have for Obama, some driven by pure racism.  Yet, they can't be bothered to come out to vote the moment the polls open?  With THAT much enthusiasm and intense hate?  They wait nonchalantly until election day?  Pffft.  Not buying it.  There is less enthusiasm for Romney than is being reported, that's why we are seeing Democrats overwhelm Republicans in the early going.

I also think that some of Romney's stated support is soft.  So, any vote that hasn't been banked yet is a potential "turn" vote.   Remember, about 5% of Romney's current supporters were Obama supporters before the first debate, had "supposedly" already made up their minds but then changed it towards Romney.  Some of them can be peeled off before election day, because they are moderate Republicans or conservative Democrats likely to be very impressed with Obama's work as President during the Hurricane crisis, a very important issue in the original "Hurricane state."

May help in this regard. Christie is looking towards 2016 and he's obviously decided to cut Romney loose.

The most dangerous... programs, from a movement conservative's point of view, are the ones that work the best and thereby legitimize the welfare state. Krugman
