    but I am familiar with NRC protocol.  Alert is the lowest level of "alert."  NRC had already sent out inspectors and engineers  at least a week prior to the impact of Sandy.  They were conducting routine inspections across the country.

    I'm not real fond of nuke scare posts.  The reactors affected by Sandy are being monitored.  Some were shut down and the one in my state, Millstone III, shut down 75% in order to not fuck up the grid.

    There is more to worry about re: what might be released in the NYC subways via seawater/transformers/PCBs.
