  •  Seems a viable "ANYBODY but Bachmann" (16+ / 0-)

candidate would be able to pick up the seat as she becomes  further and further estranged from reality!
    Gaaaak!

and my S.O.'s daughter-in-law and parents actually go to the church she used to attend. (*) There are a whole lot of "true believers" there who think Bachmann really is on a mission from God. Put them together with a bunch of suburbanites who don't care about social justice as long as their taxes stay low, and a bunch of anti-abortion Catholics in the St Cloud area, and you have the most Republican district in Minnesota.

      *    She's left the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod congregation she used to attend, which isn't actually in the 6th District anymore, and joined a new non-denominational megachurch within the district. That's actually probably a good political move for her, since the WELS has some uncomfortable doctrinal issues, including hard-core condemnation of the Roman Catholic Church, and refusing to allow women to act in a position of authority over men, which is pretty much a Congressperson's whole job.
Her home and her husband's psychology clinic aren't in the 6th anymore, either, but members of Congress aren't actually required to live in their districts. The Constitution only requires them to be residents of their state.
