  •  Working across the aisle of the helicopter? (0+ / 0-)

People who've paid attention, including the folks who read Daily Kos, know why President Obama couldn't get results working across the aisle in Congress.  Every time he reached across that aisle he got coaxed off on a snipe hunt, or treated just the way you'd expect bigots to treat an "uppity" black man.

Chris Christie is obviously a Republican who has higher principles than making Obama a one term president.  He may be the only Republican with such principles, and it took almost four years and a hurricane for him to turn up.  But better late than never.

Is it too opportunistic to suggest that maybe it was part of G_d's plan to send this natural disaster a week before the election, to make it clear to voters who's looking out for them?  Probably so, but if the situation were reversed you can bet Pat Robertson would say something like that.  Didn't he say Hurricane Katrina was the wrath of G_d directed at a sinful city?

Come to think of it, I almost expect Steve King or Michelle Bachmann or Todd Akin to suggest that Obama somehow staged Hurricane Sandy, just to show off and make FEMA and himself look good.  They've said wilder things than that.  (If someone does say that, remember you read it predicted here first!)

We're all pretty strange one way or another; some of us just hide it better. "Normal" is a dryer setting.
