  •  There were a number of polls that had Kerry (0+ / 0-)

    ahead.  I can't recall the poll I saw on TV election day morning at 7 am at the Cleveland Election Protection downtown headquarters but I did find this link:

      Starting with the polls conducted over these very dates eight years ago, Bush took a slight and consistent lead in Ohio and never relented. From this point onward, Kerry only led in one poll of Ohio (Gallup, of course), where the RealClearPolitics average showed Bush holding a 2.1 point lead on Election Day.
      I'm not especially invested in the broader meta here. It does seem a bit weird to liken what goes on here to clapping to save Tink. Even if we do spend too much time discussing polls, I don't think that is a major reason. But maybe some folks here think they're Contributing To A Narrative.
