I hope the unemployment rate holds at 7.8% or drops.  A few predictions I've seen, however, suggest that it rising is a real possibility.

I doubt there's much impact regardless of what tomorrow's report shows, but I'd rather have a good one than not.  There's no telling what the media will latch onto.

they will latch onto the changed methodology as "cooking the books."   If the report shows no change or back-slipping they will latch onto the changed methodology as "cooking the books' to keep the news from being worse.

Very dumb time to "rock the boat."

My state has just recently (this week) been added to the Romney target list so I'm seeing some of their ads for the first time.
The one getting the most play featrues a nice suburban mom listening to Obama asking for another term for his policies to work on creating jobs, while the narrator talks about the fact that "he has no plan, just more of the same". It's pretty well done, and effective in raising questions.
For anyone who is not feeling that strongly pro-Obama, an uptick in unemployment could strengthen their doubts and move them to Romney.
I'm not saying there are a lot of people still in the undecided camp, but my canvassing leads me to believe that this election is still a squeaker and we can't know what is going to change the narrative for that crucial 1/2 of 1% of voters.  So I definitely agree that a good jobs report would be better.
I'm heading out to canvass again today and I heartily encourage anyone who can to put in some time on the ground this weekend, no matter what the BLS says tomorrow.
