I hear lots of people say NC doesn't really matter. And more people say NC could be thrown away.

Well, here is a reason why NC could really matter:
Good Night Sleep on Nov. 6th.

Have you thought about how long it will take to call these swing states with Republican Governors?
Look at these swing states: PA, FL, OH, VA, WI and even NV, I have always looked at NC as the state that could give Romney the "Coup de Grace" (the final blow).

    0. The states with Republican Governors will need to go through legal challenges to know final undisputed results. Some of these battles will be fought in court.
    1. NC has a Democratic Governor and all the shenanigans going on in FL, OH, WI, VA won't happen here.
    2. If NC is called for Obama, the only other way for Romney to win would be to win all the legal challenges in other states and maybe even involve the Supreme Court.

I'm sure we all want to sleep well on November 6th. So, let's keep NC blue. I know I don't want to wake up on November 07th and still not know, who my President will be.

NC has early poll closing times, and it will also probably report its votes faster than most other states. If Ohio is slow at reporting in the first 30 minutes after polls close there, the first/best indication of what is happening nationally may be NC.
