  •  My people are just not this dumb! (21+ / 0-)

We know better and see how we have been treated with voter suppression and the constant insults during the GOP primary.

We see the t-shirts that indicate "put the white back in the
    White House."

We see pics of people hanging chairs and images of Obama on their lawns.

We see their leadership emailing offensive racists jokes.

We see them calling him the "food stamp president."

We see the horrible words and labels they have put on him and his wife and family. No matter how nice and decent and dignified President Obama has been. No matter how many times he tries to reach over the isle and try to reach deals.

It can not be any more obvious that we are not respected or wanted in their racists, bigoted party. We tend  not to go where we are not welcome.

There is no way...absolutely NO WAY, the vast majority of African Americans will support the Republican party. Not this election year. That's for sure!

To the world sick with racism, poverty and greed...get well soon.

I responded yesterday in two different diaries about this sick ad campaign. Here's one of my responses:

Cuban guy attempted to lecture me on Facebook about the folly of mindlessly voting for Democrats for decades. He pointed out how it was the GOP that backed civil rights and the Democrats were the bad guys.

And, yes, he also mentioned how it was Lincoln who freed the slaves.  And for good measure, he pointed out how President Obama has only appointed Eric Holder in a high administration position.

I told dude he could stop the lecture. Growing up in the Jim Crow South, I lived what he only read in history books. Yeah, I've had problems with the Democratic Party. But the GOP lost me forever in 1988 with those Willie Horton ads. I would sit on my hands or vote for Mickey or Minnie Mouse before I supported a gooper in a partisan election.

And, yes, I wrote in Mickey Mouse in the state House race because the gooper did not have an opponent. The GOP can kiss my black ass.

      •  It is pretty striking that (0+ / 0-)

in 1964 Civil Rights Act Voting.  Very very few Southern politicians voted for it.  The vote was passed by the rest of the country (both Dems and Reps) but then the GOP saw the opportunity - since the Southern States abandoned the Dems - and they fully embraced their Southern Strategy.
