in direction after Romney went up in the polls is that he hit the ceiling any douchebag like him lives under.

I just wish that people wouldn't invent reasons to avoid giving Obama credit for his win, if it happens. But I know they will.

The VP debate only served to see if Ryan was VP material, it was up to Obama to turn it around because people were trying to decide on the president, not the VP at that point, and fortunately Obama did turn it around.

It might have taken longer without opening a can of Joe Biden on Ryan's ass, but that's just a matter of timing.

Disclaimer: If the above comment can possibly be construed as snark, it probably is.

We all give Obama credit for what he's done. However, you aren't giving Biden HIS credit for a complete smack down of Ryan. Not only did Biden educate 60 million plus voters who tuned in and watched the new few days during replays. We give Clinton credit for being able to explain complex ideas to the masses. Biden did exactly that during the VP debate. We like to think about all of the blows Biden inflicted on Ryan but to so many voters, Biden cut through the MSM BS and 30 second sound bites and educated a lot of low information voters. He rightly deserves credit as a politician. And it also damaged Ryan. He was seen as a bumbling little boy. Ryan had 2016 aspirations and his image took a serious hit by getting creamed. Have you noticed how Ryan has all bit disappeared? Wasn't he supposed to be their golden boy? He stands as the tea party and their ideas were dismantled by Binden with a smile on his face. Obama is wonderful and I liked his last two debates but I have NEVER enjoyed a  VP debate like that. I also think it opened the flood gates for down ballot candidates because Biden proved you could hit back, expose the lies, and defend your beliefs. I don't remember Pol Ads this good in the past several elections. I hated seeing weak dems and finally being proud to see someone passionately defend our party platform and show how we help Americans. Biden deserves his due and he won a huge fan base because of his performance.

I have trouble understanding the commenter above, the bristling at any suggestion that Obama got an assist from Biden. It's  as if it were November 7 and we lost and people were pointing fingers at Obama

for what it was, and smackdown is probably the right word - it coming from the tedious entertainment of pro-wrestling - sort of the 1st "reality show" in a way. I wish that kind of debate style wasn't necessary, but Biden did well to win the thing, etc. Ever since Fox News took hold, interviews and debates are mostly about interrupting people, and it's low brow. It makes our culture worse, and dumber.

And so sure, Biden did well. And so too did Obama, in the speeches he gave in the days after his 1st debate, and onward, through two debates of his own.

Biden's debate win has been exaggerated, just as Obama's first debate was exaggerated.

        It's typical.

Many people just "see" it that way. But then, more than 50% of the country is prejudiced in some way against blacks, so that's going to happen.

I'm not saying that you're prejudiced, but there's going to be a tendency for some over-correcting to occur because of people's "tastes." And if you're at one point in the spectrum, and I'm at another, then there are a whole bunch of Americans in a much less healthy part of that spectrum.

        And it's tiring.

Mitt Romney hit his ceiling. And of course. Just look at the guy.

        •  Biden just destroyed Ryan (6+ / 0-)

Ryan was the poster boy of an intellectual Republican that knows how to balance the budget. After the smackdown by Biden, I think his fame started to fade and his Conservative stardom lost its luster.

You may not think so much about the VP debate. But it disarmed Ryan and made him look foolish. Before he was a star for the Republican party. Now his future is a bit shaky and he hasn't recovered from the smackdown by Biden.

Wonderfully stated.  Don't expect majorities of folks to understand this, though.
