The wingnuts here are in a frenzy. I think those that have accepted Obama's impending win are really starting to lose it. The comments on the KC Star's website have gone from hysterical to out-and-out sociopathic.

These people are sick. I will be excited for an Obama win, but my primary motivation for donating and volunteering for the local Dem effort is to stop people like this wingnut loser, and almost as importantly, to be able to gloat shamelessly to these nutcases. They deserve nothing less than constant scorn and contempt, with a touch of arrogant "classless victor-mode" thrown in merely to taunt them. I don't feel bad about it in the least - I hate these people.

I read daily (in fact, I just subscribed to the print edition as they're going to start charging to access the site and it's greatly discounted if you're a print subscriber - which means that soon we'll have many fewer wingnuts there because most cancelled their print subscription when they endorsed Obama and they wouldn't pay to access their website if their very lives depended on it.  Anyway).

They really are getting insane - they bring up Benghazi in every story, even if it's just about the Chiefs, and they've attacked the more liberal columnists with more venom than usual.  I can't wait to see the big smackdown on election day.  Most of the wingnuts who post there are clearly from the Kansas side yet they whine and bitch about Claire McCaskill, who happens to represent another state.  Election day will be sweet revenge, believe me.  I doubt it'll shut them up but at least they won't be gloating.

      •  The Star's site is going behind a paywall? (3+ / 0-)

Did not know that. I heard that they endorsed Obama, but I just cannot bring myself to subscribe to a paper that employs E. Thomas McClanahan. The guy is a pure hack. He has no original thoughts and is merely a conduit for the right-wing talking point du jour. And when he does cover local issues, it's laughable. I remember one column where he argued against KC having a curbside recycling program because...wait for it...there is still plenty of land left for landfills.

        What an idiot.

If you're a print subscriber it's .69 cents a week to access, and that amount is added to your print bill.  Otherwise it's ten bucks a month, steep for a site that only seems to update everything but sports and breaking news more than three times a week.

McClanahan used the phrase 'food Nazis on the march' a couple of weeks ago and it was really the final straw for me.  You can disagree with those who believe we shouldn't poison our children with crap food but to sink to the Nazi insult was beyond the pale.

That said, they still have many more liberal columnists who make up for that fool.  It's the only game in town so I'm going to stick with it.
