  •  there was a piece written in the Atlantic (14+ / 0-)

about  how hard CC tries to get a hello from Bruce.
    was really funny.
    kinda sad.
      but mostly funny.
because CC did not care how pathetic he sounded.
he really didn't. and knew he did.
    and did not care.

      •  we're okay. (12+ / 0-)

        not much damage.
tree still hanging out on our power lines.
        my beautiful aggravating willow!
huge pieces of it gone - it was 3898 feet tall.
i'm sure branches growing back already.
we can't get anyone to come out.
they are all booked or have no gas to use equipment.
so i'm like what if it takes power out on street?
        what if it starts fire?
police go yes but we busy.

        the mess was the worst.
and my damn greenhouse is bent!
the house a few houses down was squashed as were there cars...so i'm more than all right.
power back on our street - but most of my city is still dark.

gas is the big problem. forget it.
only a few gas stations open.
mass panic all over. it's insane.
        five mile lines.
police all over the lines keeping order.
        fights breaking because of cutters.
        it's like thunderdome.  creepy!
takes like four hours to get a tank of gas.
        forget that.
if i run out, i run out.
i am not dealing with that crap.
plus 1/2 the traffic lights still out.
it's like Frogger on Crack trying to drive out there.
        So forget that.
And it would be nice if lowes would get supplies on the shelves that we need and their power back
i am tired of the sound of generators.
        wwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Our company could not open all week.
        My SO's either.
So we got on each others nerves.
Hope my plants okay.  At work i mean.

so you can see, i'm okay.
just wondering how i thought this was going to be meh like.
knowing that we are killing the planet.

        •  Is that a typo? A willow that's 3,898 feet tall? (1+ / 0-)

If not, you need to call the authorities right away...you have the Eighth Wonder of the World in your yard.

        •  I'm glad you made it through okay! (0+ / 0-)

I can't even begin to imagine what y'all are going through right now. Thankfully you have power so if the predicted nor'easter heads your way at least you'll be warm.

How are you doing on essentials? Are grocery stores open so if you need something you can get it?

that this hard-nosed governor of a state is a total fanboy at heart.  There are far worse people he could adore than Springsteen.

Hope the Boss throws him a nice word or two - he's earned it, IMHO, for putting the welfare of his people above partisanship.
