When I first heard about reaganomics i was only 24 yrs old and extremely naive politically, however I remember very clearly that I thought it was a joke to give rich people more money and they would in turn make more money and give it back to the poor folks. I thought everything was funny back in those days, never did I think that 30 yrs later politicians would still be selling it, particularly after it has failed so miserably.

George H.W. Bush called it "Voodoo Economics." I knew he was unprincipled when he abandoned what he knew to be true just for a chance at the presidency. It was the same with his "Read my lips. No new taxes." He knew taxes would have to be raised and said it anyway. Then he was hurt when people were angry that he didn't keep his word!

Compromise is sometimes necessary, but it's never a good idea to abandon sound principles entirely for the sake of compromise or power.
