    and it is quite liberal. In fact, when I attended Penn State in the 70s, they boasted being the first university to have a charter organization for LGBT that started in the 60s and it stayed very active.  

    I had a professor during the Vietnam war era who said..

    I am attending the AntiWar  Rally on Old Main Lawn. And if any of you think this class or any class is more important than protesting this war, you can go to Hell.

    We had Earth Day which was a big deal since the 60s and it was through Penn State, I got involved with GOTV for Democrats.  There was a real presence of liberals on campus and in the faculty, there still is.

    Centre County finally went blue 4 yrs ago because STate College has grown so much and students voted and it outnumbered the conservatives in the rest of the county.

    And there are areas in Central PA which are quite liberal like on college campuses like Bucknell and many other college campus towns.
