  •  Speaking of desperation, some voters (9+ / 0-)

are coming completely unhinged, having internalized the saying, "Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice."  Now there has been a bomb scare at a Florida early voting location, which shut down voting for three hours and news of "poll watchers" in North Carolina losing their minds, challenging poll workers and screaming at them until the police had to be called.

This is turning into a truly nasty, even violent, election season encouraged by one of our country's major political parties - it's truly awful to see what "democracy" has become.

"In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for; as for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican." - H. L. Mencken

many big cities in my growing up years (40's and 50's), and the Democrats were to blame.  So, it's not as though it's new.  Remains upsetting and disgusting, whoever is to blame.

We need to update the VRA so that national elections in every state have national standards.

to check people in after the official poll workers, and check them out after they have voted. The overtime pay is very good. That part of the union contract bothered me.

      Not any more.

I am afraid for certain states on Tuesday. Do people need to reconsider taking their children to the polls? Will this behavior stop people from going to the polls.

It will certainly change laws and regulations. This violence is just the excuse needed for mail in ballots that will be rejected for frivolous reasons.
