here in Florida for requesting an absentee ballot was 5:00 p.m. on October 31. How is it that one county is offering something different?

have to request one be mailed to you by that date and time. However, at the Pinellas County SOE website it says:

Voters may pick up mail ballots in person prior to 7 p.m. Election Day.

At my SOE's website (Polk County) it just says:
Question: May I pick up an absentee ballot?

Answer: A registered voter may pick up an absentee ballot at any Supervisor of Elections offices with picture identification.

but I checked the SOE site and it gave open hours for tomorrow.   I've been working on the campaign and didn't know about this until tonight so don't know if it's a new development.  Looks like it's statewide but with SOE deciding county hours and locations.  See comment from smash artist above re hillsborough county.
