I spent longer trying to find out if my polling place was open than it usually takes to vote- It is - and i just got a phone call telling me where I could look or call to find out- I'm in the red part of the state - I hope the rest of the state is getting the same messages -
And thanks for all the power trucks - we're down from over a million out  to 410,000 last time I checked - I'm glad congress was out of session and the President is on the job-

A friend's mother is up here after getting evacuated from central Jersey -- she said before she left, they stopped at the municipal offices and she was able to vote early, and also that there will be mobile polling places in the areas most affected by Sandy.

Vote411.org (run by the League of Women Voters) is supposed to have the information on every polling place -- but I don't know how good their database is on storm-related changes.

... or wifi somewhere, go to the Secretary of State's web site.

Don't know about NJ, but here in MN the Secretary of State's web site has pages and pages and pages of info & Q&A & sample ballot, etc., and one can check on registration status (we can register on election day with proper ID; several options listed on the SoS web site - once registered, and if one does not move, one is on the same printout year after year in the same precinct; one only re-registers if there's a new address).

See if NJ has all voter info on the SoS web site.

[I know nothing about NJ election/voter registration laws, so please forgive me if this is incorrect advice.]
