    Don't goats have the pernicious habit of grazing down below the ground line into the roots for the plants they're seeking.  I seem to recall that they can be particularly hard on grazing grounds because it's a wasteland when they finish.  Horses and cattle aren't anywhere near this hard on their environment.  It means that goats survive better in a harsher environment but leave nothing behind.  

    Hmmm, I guess that would be the perfect metaphor for the modern Republican Party.  As it's motto, rather than "Leave nobody behind" it would be "Leave nothing behind."  It's the perfect comparison to Obama's call to action in the campaign.
