    We used to have enumerators, groups of usually 2 people who would go around door to door and get that info, but now we have the National Register of electors.

    It gets the info from a lot of sources. Canada Post (Our version of the US Postal Service) The CRA (Our version of the IRS) the Elections organizations for each province I mentioned above, etc.

    The one I see the most is with taxes taxes, I just got a new job and filling out the tax form there is a box that says my info will be added to the register, you can opt out if you want to however. (Of course I always want my info shared) Also when you do your taxes a similar box is there.
