    whereas blue states generally send more than they get back.
    Recently, EVERY state has gotten back more (way more, in fact) than they send in.  

    The point remains that the red states are even more skewed in that direction, of course.

      therefore the revenue required to care for their infrastructure and people. They've come to more and more rely on the Feds to do the heavy lifting and be the bad guys.

      Unfortunately, leaving FICA out of it, more than 50% of federal taxes collected are diverted right off the top to military expenditures that include mostly operations overseas. And a hell of a lot more goes to various corporations and industries to keep them "healthy".

      Our corrupt federal government and the greed-driven republican minority plutocracy and driving the country, state by state, towards failure.

      Politics is more crucial now then it's ever been.

        comment - but, my state (or more precisely, my county) has NOT been shy about raising taxes lately . . . . which has WAY more than offset all the fabled Obama tax breaks!

        In a way, that's a good thing because local services, including education, have remained strong, but still - the feds do NOT deserve credit for it.
