    that government has ultimate checks, and corporations have no checks. We control the government with our votes, which are granted to the poorest among us in equal share to the richest. The government is the only thing powerful enough to restrain corporations that are only too happy to foul the air and water, in fact, destroy the climate, and hoard all of the benefits of our productivity for themselves.

    Now the Republicans are going after our ability to vote as well, and that is what is truly scary, and completely against everything America stands for. I hope it is not too late for the well meaning people still in that party to realize how radicalized it has become, and to begin restore some sanity.  I still don't understand why more independents are not far more repulsed by that radicalism than they are. I guess it is because they just aren't paying much attention.
