    There are those that exist. Not exclusively in the Southern US, nor are all Southern White males such as this. Further, it is in no possible stretch of the imagination reason for any American to espouse views that disenfranchising many millions of American citizens.

    Does this truly have to be explained? Here?

      Disenfranchising?  That usually means depriving some one of his right to vote.  Who said anything about that?

      In a broader sense to disenfranchise some one can mean to deprive him of his political power.  That is exactly what I wish I could do to the bigots, but we can't.

      My whole point is that it is useless to talk to or try to persuade these Sons of the South.  We don't need to do anything to them, but we really ought to destroy their myth.

      It is, after all, a lie.
