...IM'd Hyp and asked her what we're making:

local turkey from the farmer's market that was still alive last Thursday
cornbread dressing with sausage, local organic hard-boiled eggs, and peppers
    100% whole wheat rolls
    scalloped corn and oysters
    garlic mashed potatoes
green bean, mushroom soup, and onion ring casserole (some traditions never die)
    chipotle sweet potatoes
    fresh fruit salad
    cranberry orange salad
stevia pumpkin pie with whole wheat crust and fresh whipped cream (also with stevia)
    maybe a surprise or two

And, also: scotch, wine, brandy. ;-)

So yeah, we'll be starting on the cooking tomorrow too. We always do cornbread dressing--Hyp's mom did it with sausage in it, but damn, one of these years we've got to do the oyster thing. Hyp's cornbread dressing is to die for.

Then Thursday afternoon it's to Dad's new senior living apartment that's actually in our town with a car full of food and some DVDs (suggestions welcome), Friday is Dysfunctional Family Thanksgiving at the Cafe Wellstone in Second Life, and then Saturday is a more relaxed meal (with maybe another turkey) with friends at our place.

This is a good time of year.
