  •  It is a good day to be a liberal Democrat, even a (9+ / 0-)

    tired one.

I'm enjoying Spillover: animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic by David Quammen, which is about exactly what the title says, zoonosis.

And I'm reading some of the stories in Pulp Fictions, edited by Peter Haining even though I don't really care much for short stories but I've decided that I should expand my reading this year to include them. Mysteries sometimes seem to make good short stories.

Just started Children of Tantalus: Niobe and Pelops the first book in the Tapestry of Bronze Trilogy by Alice Underwood and Victoria Grossack. It is based on Ancient Greek mythology and so far looks pretty good.

Also finally reading In the Bleak Midwinter by Julia Spencer-Fleming.

Finished A Radical Departure, by Lia Matera, The Hot Rock, by Donald Westlake and The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie.

And, I have joined the ranks of those who simply loved Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.
