  •  John McCain chose a woman... (0+ / 0-)

...and he still lost. Sounds more like a cynical ploy. Even if Romney did choose Martinez or another woman, Mitt would have still undermined himself through his own actions.

Mitt the 2002 Moderate, he would have posed a FAR more formidable challenge this year. Instead, he choose to run to the far-right, to rally the GOP base, select Lyin' Ryan as VP. He'll lose, tomorrow.

Part of me hopes the Tea-Party, right-wing, fundie, paleo-conservatives don't figure this out or admit it, because it will keep them losing.

But I love the USA, and I want it to be even better than it is today, and for that I reluctantly hope the GOP regains its balance and bearings, shifts back to a more reasonable, rational, moderate path. Even though would mean tougher elections for us, it would also mean better policies and practices, in the end. (Policies passed under Nixon, for example, were more liberal than many even Obama has proposed today, because the whole society was more liberal.)
