  •  what is rude (5+ / 0-)

is coming to a site all about electing DEMOCRATS and pushing third-party spoiler bullshit on election day.

That said, try to understand that this party exists because the Democrats have not taken a strong stand on environmental issues, in spite of it being pretty much the most important thing ever.

As inconvenient, ill-advised and doomed as Dr. Stein's run is, these are potential allies.  Trying to berate them for existing is counterproductive at best.

    for the millionth !@#$%& time:

nobody is berating them for existing; no one is disparaging their values and priorities.

what we are roundly deriding, and deservedly so, is the complete and utter avalanche of fail that is voting third party when all it will do is empower the GOP.

the criticism is on tactics, not the priorities and goals of greens.  but i must say: it's a pretty fucked-up system that would sacrifice everything on the altar of ideology.

    •  And that's why the HRs are justified. (0+ / 0-)

Totally inappropriate for this site, and at the worst possible time.  I get that.  But still, it's possible to say, "Hey, this site supports Obama so get behind him or fuck off" without then going into "Nader caused the Iraq war" realms of silliness.

On a side note, I'm not sure what you mean by "sacrifice everything."  Seems like rendering the biosphere incapable of supporting human civilization is pretty much the pinnacle of sacrificing everything.  I mean, how can you top that?  But hey, maybe Sandy was the kick in the ass the Democrats needed to get serious about this in Obama's second term.  One can hope anyway.  :-)
