  •  I can get to sleep, but I have disturbing dreams (12+ / 0-)

which leave me exhausted when I awaken.

I have traveled a lot, and seen many good and beautiful things and places. I’ve also seen a lot of ugliness, cruelty, violence, poverty, suffering and tragedy, and it is these, instead of the good stuff, that populate my dreams.

I have a wonderful life. I am happily, joyously married to a wonderful woman and now have a beautiful, intelligent and delightful daughter, adopted just last week.

I sometimes wonder, with all the good and beautiful things I have seen, and with the great life I now have, why I don’t have pleasant dreams.

Good luck to you. Hope you can sort out your sleep cycles.

    •  Congratulations on your adoption! (9+ / 0-)

I adopted a baby 35 years ago, and it was the greatest gift I've ever given myself. How old is your daughter?

Her name is Mud. Actually it's Mudmee, and that's her nickname. Everyone here in Thailand goes by their nickname. She graduates from university in March and wants to be a flight attendant. We're flying down to Singapore this week for a recruitment SA is holding. She went to one here in BKK and made it to the fourth round, one round short of the finals. She wants to be a Singapore Girl, but her Mom and I secretly want her to catch on with one of the airlines here so she can continue to live with us.

Like you, I am happily married. The marriage and our son are my joys in life.

That is why I consider myself blessed, with or without sleep problems. My spouse is, fortunately, a very understanding person.

Bad dreams can have many origins. When I have something going on like that in my life, I take the condition, like bad dreams, and add alternative care and google for the results. That has provided many an answer to health issues.
