  •  Just got back from voting (4+ / 0-)

They've finally decided to join the rest of the country here in Queens, NY and use fill-in "Scantron"-type ballots instead of those clunky old metal lever switch-type machines with the curtains, where you had to pull this huge lever when you're done to register your votes that always left me with the fear that I did something wrong and my votes didn't count. Thankfully, no chads, hanging or otherwise.

where you draw a line connecting two halves of an arrow indicating who your choice is. Probably better than filling in the bubbles for those with Parkinson's or other impairments that can affect dexterity.

mine did not want to go into the machine. The election official helped me and he got in the 4th try. I could tell it registered as I was voter 344 and when it went in finally..machine said 344.

We used to vote using the levers, never much liked them. I love the paper ballots fed into a machine better.  I like filling in the circle for some reason and handling the actual ballot.
