  •  Thanks. In Pasco now -- was Pinellas 1963-73. (7+ / 0-)

Door knocked trying to unseat chain gang Charlie's dad -- for sleeping thru school board meetings.   Poll worker for Claude Kirk election.  It was depressing back then to listen to the chorus of R straight party clangs on the old machines,  instead of folks bothering to consider voting against even one bad candidate.

Glad you younguns have picked up the baton.

My tween granddaughter was so excited to by her civics class this year.   She went to see her mom vote yesterday and tried really hard to stay up watching election results with me last night & was up early getting more data on computer.

Nice to see the next generations picking up the weight of our by the people government.

Is a happy dance an appropriately ladylike enough response?

    •  Claude Kirk................. O.M.G. (0+ / 0-)

If that man had had a skosh of intelligence his insanity would have made him an enduring American icon.

      Jesse James kinda guy.

Ran around the state surrounded by a couple dozen State Troopers. Packing. On a half-rant at breakfast.

(The Jesse James who blew it with Sandra Bullock.)

    •  Not that much of a youg'un heh (0+ / 0-)

I remember Claude Kirk from my youth when I grew up in the backwaters of Lee County.

Lee regressive today as it was then.   Someone wanted to build an ice skating rink in the late 60s but the local folks fought it because it would bring hooligans to the area.  You know, teenagers by any other name.
